Sansa avoids Charles at all cost for fear of her brother’s wrath, despite her feelings. Katherine, John’s mother, attempts to pry information on Mistress Anne’s condition from the King’s brother-in-law, Jamie. Her wish is to have her future grandson proclaimed as an heir, should Prince Henry die without any of his own. Anne finally makes contact with John, whom she had, until recently, merely glanced at. Meanwhile her mother, Lady Catelyn, is vehemently against their union and seeks religious counsel, but to no avail.
